If you have applied to NSFAS and were asked to complete a consent form you need to do that so that your funding can be approved. We have all the details for you.
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) is a government student bursary scheme which receives its funding budget from, and reports to the Department of Higher Education and Training.
Who Qualifies For NSFAS Funding?
NSFAS offers bursaries for South African students studying at public universities and TVET colleges for their first post-school qualification. They cover tuition fees, accommodation fees and give students a transport, living and book allowance.
For the first time this year it is also providing loans to students from the group called the ‘missing middle’ which will cover either undergraduate or postgraduate studies.
SARS Consent Form For NSFAS
NSFAS has asked some applicants to complete a SARS consent form which needs to be completed and returned so that their application is completed. The NSFAS SARS consent form gives authority for NSFAS to check the family’s combined income against the SARS database. The consent form NSFAS asks for is compulsory and funding won’t be approved without it.
